Management Björn Stansvik - Chief Executive Officer & Chairman of the Board
Mr. Stansvik holds a M.Sc. in Business Administration from the Gothenburg School of Economics and has completed a master's thesis in Civil Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. Immigrating to the United States in December 1999 he worked in high-tech and strategic business development in Europe, Latin America, and the United States prior to founding MentorMate in 2001 around the iQpakk mobile learning solution, and has guided the company through various stages of growth and change.
Mr. Stansvik is the creator of MentorMate's patented iQpakk technologies in mobile learning content management systems and has received a Certificate of Commendation for these signed by the governor of Minnesota. He is a member of the Entrepreneur's Organization (EO).
He is a supporter of the National Parks Conservation Association and the Friends of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. He is also a member of SKOAC (Superior Kayaking and Outdoor Adventure Club) and participated in the world’s longest (1,000 miles) kayaking race - The Yukon1000.
Mr. Stansvik is fluent in four languages. He speaks on a local and national level on topics such as educational technology, entrepreneurship, software development, globalization, and more. Over the past decade he has maintained a strong connection to the Twin Cities' entrepreneurial tech community and serves on Project Skyway’s advisory board as a mentor to technology entrepreneurs.
James Williams - Vice President of Business Development
Prior to joining MentorMate, Mr. Williams held senior level sales, marketing and business development positions in multiple industries including: business process outsourcing, procurement, tax compliance, software development, energy management, healthcare, manufacturing, information and facilities management. From small start ups (Convey, Hunt Technologies, Strategicsource) to mid-sized (Ergotron, CBSA, Gallup) to Fortune 100 (Target) companies, Mr. Williams has successfully secured, implemented and serviced several Fortune 500 companies with both SAAS and BPO business models to include: GE, St Paul Travelers, Allianz, Chase, Aetna, Nationwide, Coventry Healthcare, Exxon Mobile, John Hancock, Unisys, Delta, Wells Fargo, US Bank, Health One and BCBS's nationally.
Having been employed by, or consulted with, six MN Fast 50 privately held companies, Mr. Williams' expertise includes business development, strategic and operational planning, market and financial analysis, product/service development and diversification, sales, and marketing communications. International experience includes developing and conducting bus dev, market, sales and product training courses (translated in Spanish, German and French) for 23 European Distributors from 17 countries traveling to Amsterdam, Germany, France and the UK.
Mr. Williams received his MBA from the University of St. Thomas and BA from St. Johns University. He has been a national speaker at CPA & CFO conferences, Associations, and Manufacturer sponsored events on the topic of Strategic Outsourcing to Improve Operational Performance & Profitability. Most recently, James spoke at the AICPA national conference on the Importance & Benefits of Forming a Personal Board of Directors.
Dimitar Dobrev - Chief Technology Officer
Dimitar is managing the Software Development Team in Sofia, Bulgaria and also acting as Chief Technology Officer to assess projects from a technical and business perspective and to provide technical leadership. Over the course of the eight years working at MentorMate he has been involved in the design and implementation of many software projects. Dimitar has over 13 years of experience in Software Development working for US and European companies in the IT industry. He has experience with a wide selection of technologies on mobile, desktop and server platforms which would involve DBMS modeling and implementation, SQL, C# and VB.NET, ASP, ASP.NET, Java, J2EE, J2ME, JSP, C/C++, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, ActionScript, Adobe Flex and ColdFusion programming. Dimitar has a Masters Degree in Telecommunications and Technologies from the Sofia Technical University in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Stephen Fluin - Director of US Services
Stephen joined MentorMate is 2001 after seeing a presentation by Björn Stansvik about iQpakk. Stephen approached Björn about becoming involved, and has been involved in the development and improvement of iQpakk for the past 10 years. Stephen works with our team of project managers, business analysts, implementation engineers, and developers to ensure quality integration and delivery of iQpakk to MentorMate's customers and end users.
