The introduction of technology into learning does not obviate the need for sound instructional design tied to business needs. It all starts with the business need. You can think of it as a cascading water fall: Business need > Courses > Outcomes > Competencies > Objectives. To translate a fairly broad and abstract business need such as "to gain market share in the balloon catheter market" into learning that actually helps drive market share, it is imperative that every link between the business need and ultimately the sales force's acquired learning/skills in the field is strong – including feedback loops. The chain is not stronger than its weakest link. That's why we have painstakingly designed a process supported by the iQpakk system that explicitly creates this translation of "business need to business result" every step of the way. Our chosen framework is the Gold Standard of learning proven for some sixty years now based off Benjamin Bloom's work in the 1950s and refined through today "The Revised Bloom's Taxonomy".

 

But we do not stop there. We raise the game yet another level by actually tagging every nugget of learning (patented "morphing questions") by its specific place in this taxonomy to peg it to and measure its role in translating business needs into business results.

When this very thorough targeted content makes its way to the learner, it records relevant relative strengths and weaknesses of each learner as well as the content itself – that's the RightTaxonomy patent. Then on top of that, it interacts dynamically with the learner in a subtle way by changing the semantic format - automatically dialing up or down the challenge - according to the learner's performance in real-time – that's the RightChallenge Patent. The critical aspect to note about this model is that it does not result necessarily into flashy moving objects flying across the screen – but rather it focuses on a massive number of concurrent internal thinking processes for each fact element going on in the learner's mind - ultimately tying them to the business need and corresponding desired result. In the end what matters is the actual increased effectiveness of staff to do their jobs rather than "flashiness".
